Launching your campaign and what to expect

You've built your campaign, set your price, and added a payment method. Time to go live.

Pre-launch checklist

Before you flip your campaign active, double-check:

  • [ ] Trade is correct

  • [ ] Service area covers where you actually work

  • [ ] Lead types match the jobs you want

  • [ ] Schedule reflects when you can answer the phone

  • [ ] Daily and weekly caps make sense for your team's capacity

  • [ ] Price per lead is at or near the recommendation (especially if you're new)

  • [ ] Payment method is on file (card, ACH balance, or both)

Going live

From the campaign page, flip the pause/unpause toggle to Active. That's it. Your campaign is now eligible to receive leads.

If your account is missing something required (most commonly a payment method), you'll see a message on the campaign telling you what needs to be fixed before the campaign can go active.

You can pause and unpause any time. Useful when you're full on capacity, going on vacation, or want to stop spend temporarily.

What happens next

Once your campaign is active, here's the typical timeline:

First 24 hours You may or may not see leads. Lead delivery depends on what's coming in from our ads right now. Don't panic if it's quiet at first.

First week You should see consistent lead flow assuming your price is competitive. If you don't, your price is likely the issue.

First month You'll have enough data to know your close rate, average job value, and ROI per lead. This is when you start tuning the campaign.

How leads will reach you

Every lead is delivered in three places by default:

  1. Your LeadSource dashboard. Every lead shows up under the Leads tab in real time.

  2. Email notification. You'll get an email the moment a lead comes in, with all the details.

  3. SMS notification. If you've added a mobile number to your profile, you'll get a text too.

If you've set up integrations (GoHighLevel, Zapier, or webhooks), the lead will also flow to those systems. We'll cover that in the Integrations section.

What we tell every contractor on day one

A few habits separate the contractors who do well on LeadSource from the ones who don't:

Call the lead within 5 minutes. Speed-to-lead is the single biggest factor in close rate. The first contractor to call usually wins.

Follow up 2x a day for 10 days. Most contractors call once and give up. The contractors closing the most jobs are the ones who keep following up. Mornings and afternoons work best.

Track everything. Mark which leads converted in your CRM or in our integrations. After a few weeks, you'll know which lead types and pricing levels are working and which aren't.

Dispute legitimately bad leads. If a lead has a wrong number or is clearly spam, dispute it. We process those credits. We can't issue credits for leads where the homeowner just didn't answer.

What to do if you're not seeing leads

If you've been active for 2-3 days and haven't seen any leads:

  1. Check that your campaign isn't paused

  2. Make sure your schedule is set to current hours, not future ones

  3. Confirm your service area is correct

  4. Check your price relative to our recommendation. If you're significantly below, raise it.

  5. Make sure your payment method is active (card not declined, ACH balance not at zero)

Still nothing? Email [email protected] and we'll take a look.

Welcome aboard

That's it. You're live. The Getting Started section is done. From here, the General, Integrations, and Billing sections cover the day-to-day of working with LeadSource.
